Eric Gruber

Eric Gruber has 35 years of experience in Senior Housing, most recently as the Executive Vice President of Development for Cogir Management USA, a top 25 national operator with 65 communities and over 8,000 units at mid-year 2024. A Phoenix Arizona native, Eric was President/CFO of Southwest Retirement Corporation in the 1990s; Cofounder/President/COO of Sierra Pointe Management from 1998 to 2014; and Cofounder of Cadence Living in 2016 in charge of Operations and Development. Growing from zero to 35 communities in 6 years, Cadence was sold to Cogir in 2022 to create a top 25 national senior housing operator with communities in 10 states. At these companies Eric ground up developed several thousand units of Independent, Assisted, and Memory Care units, while managing over 10,000 units over time.

Outside of Senior Housing, Eric is a former board member of the Foundation for Prader Wili Research and the cofounder of Luna Azul Development which designed, constructed, and sold the first of its kind fee-simple housing project for young adults with Developmental Disabilities. He also owned and operated restaurants in the 2010s in Newport Beach, Pasadena, and Phoenix.

Eric is a graduate of Stanford University with bachelor’s degrees in economics and political science, and will be guest lecturing at a course on Senior Housing Development at the WP Carey School of Business at ASU in Spring 2025.
